Newburyport City Hall Civil Ceremony
NEWBURYPORT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
You’ve decided to get married in beautiful downtown Newburyport and have booked a civil ceremony at Newburyport City Hall. It will be just the two of you celebrating, but you’d love to document your marriage, along with some picture-taking afterward to commemorate the day. Your preference is to keep the photography casual and fun, while capturing the warmth and spirit of the city. How much can you possibly photograph in an hour? Well, quite a lot!
As with most city hall weddings and elopements, T+S’s ceremony took no more than a few minutes, leaving us with plenty of time to explore the nearby nooks and crannies of Newburyport. With the weather being quite brisk, our first stop was to warm up at Garrison Inn, where the couple enjoyed a stay the night before. Garrison Inn offers two wonderful rooms for photography, both flooded with natural light and eclectic decor. The pink-themed Ladyfinger’s tea lounge is especially eye-catching with its bold collection of art adorning the walls.
After braving the chill of Market Square and State Street, T+S had two wonderful indoor places in mind for the remainder of our session. Dyno Records in Newburyport was our first stop, with T+S focusing less on the camera and more on each other while searching the shelves for their favorite vinyl. As a general rule, taking part in an activity together during your session is the perfect way to stay casual and bring a candid signature to the images. Enjoying a drink together is another great way of engaging with each other, and I want to thank Port Tavern in Newburyport for being so gracious and letting us use their cozy space to close out our session.
