Crane Estate Engagement Session
IPSWICH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER
I first collaborated with J+C photographing their surprise engagement proposal at the Crane Estate. When I heard they were returning to the Ipswich area for a visit, with the hope of scheduling another photo session at the estate during their stay, I was all for it! Working with repeat clients like J+C is always a pleasurable experience because you already have a sense for each other’s sensibility and style. And with the second shoot doubling as a chance to catch up, repeat sessions invite a new level of fun and playfulness that comes from being familiar with one another.
Though this shoot was more of an anniversary session for J+C, I’ve titled this post as an “engagement session” because I know there are many out there seeking answers on taking engagement pictures at Crane Estate. Whether you are looking to book family photos, senior portraits, an engagement proposal, or an engagement shoot at Crane Estate, you’ll need to follow a few steps in order to take pictures on the property. For one, you’ll need to book a 90-minute window at Crane Estate, currently priced at $300. To make this booking, you’ll also need a Trustees Membership at the Family Level ($80), which I subscribe to and use for client bookings. Photography is not permitted inside the Great House, and it’s important to note that white dresses, flower bouquets, and dogs are prohibited from any and all sessions. Failure to follow these rules can actually get you booted off the property, so if you’re considering Castle Hill or Crane Estate for your photo session, please be sure you are working with a professional photographer who is familiar with the rules so as not to have your session interrupted or cancelled.
During their trip, J+C stayed at the Inn at Castle Hill, a very cute B&B nestled alongside Crane Estate with views of the ocean and Crane Beach. Thank you to the inn for allowing us shoot on their property as well, and I look forward to working with future clients drawn to the beauty of the Crane Estate!
