GLOUCESTER SENIOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

I love photographing senior portrait sessions in Gloucester at Wingaersheek Beach! Thanks to the location’s combination of dunes, rocks, and extreme low tides, there are always plenty of interesting picture-perfect spots to explore, not to mention the often beautiful sunsets that grace late afternoon sessions.

For an hour senior portrait session at the beach, I recommend bringing along two to three wardrobe options to create a variety of looks in your pictures. If one of your outfits will be a pair of longer pants or jeans, I suggest arriving at the session wearing those first, as we will likely initially begin photography in the dunes and upper beach. For the second half of the session, we’ll work our way down to the tidal pools and eventually the bay. A dress or shorts are a great choice for wading into the pools and shallow water, and I’ll be stepping into the surf right along with you to get just the right angles.

With all senior portrait sessions, we’ll shoot a combination of “formal” and candid images. The formal pictures — with you looking at the camera — meet the requirements of your yearbook, and are a favorite of parents who still prefer framing a traditional image. Candid images — with you looking away from the camera — create a sense of spontaneity and casual energy. By photographing both styles, we’ll create a senior portrait collection that speaks to your personality and comfort level.
