Pingree School Wedding Photography

BOSTON WEDDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Arriving early at a venue affords me that all-important extra time to scout spots for portraits and see what fun tricks the light is playing that day. This was my first visit to the Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA, and touring the property didn’t disappoint! Warm woods and cozy great rooms. Manicured grounds and stately architecture. The perfect spot for a New England wedding!

Another benefit of arriving early is having the chance to understand what concessions need to be made due to weather. The initial plan was for the ceremony to be held outside in front of the school, but rain required the ceremony be moved to the indoor library, which actually made for a very unique location. There was a break in the clouds soon after, so we dashed outside after the ceremony to take advantage of the clearing skies and reclaimed our chance to stage photography with the school as our gorgeous background.

The outdoor tented reception ensured the party could still be held outdoors, and with spirits high and dancing in full swing, I extended my stay to capture all of the energy. For smaller receptions or quieter crowds, I usually suggest wrapping photography after documenting the initial portion of dancing, assuming all other highlights like cake cutting or a bouquet toss have been photographed. But when your reception is really moving and everyone is having a blast, that’s a perfect reason to continue photography into the later hours to snap shots of all those fun moments.
