Kearv + Michael [LA County Arboretum & Botanic Garden Engagement]

NORTH SHORE NEWBURYPORT ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Though having recently relocated to the Newburyport, Massachusetts area, I still have a backlog of past projects from sessions photographed while out in Southern California. It’s winter now, and as I post this, there’s a slight chance of snow in the forecast — a pretty strong contrast to the toasty summer temperatures during this engagement session.

Photographed on the beautiful grounds of the LA County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, the manicured colorful desert landscapes made for a wonderful backdrop for Kearv and Michael’s session. This was my second time shooting at The Arboretum, my first being at Joy & Chai’s wedding. If you look close enough, you might even recognize Queen Anne Cottage’s — the distinctive red and white building — the very place where the opening of Fantasy Island was filmed.

Despite the warm weather, Kearv and Michael kept their spirits high and hydrated, and we finished the day with a really fun collection of images. I wonder how it’d be to shoot in the opposite… a frigid day with snow? More to come down the road from their wedding!
