Boston City Hall Wedding Photography
BOSTON CIVIL SERVICE MARRIAGE PHOTOGRAPHER
You’re getting married at Boston City Hall. Your ceremony, depending on your vows, is a ten to fifteen minute civil service on the second or sixth floor in the presence of close family or perhaps just by yourselves. Though your legal union is an intimate, shorter gathering, there’s no reason you can’t expand the scale of your celebration beyond Government Center.
With more couples opting for smaller, close-knit weddings in the form of an elopement or civil marriage, you can still enjoy some of the hallmarks of longer, traditional weddings, simplified to fit the scope of your personalized event. After the ceremony, maybe you’ll gather at a nearby pub for drinks (cocktails) followed by a cozy meal at a restaurant with those dearest to you (reception). And then, there’s photography, which need not be limited to documenting your ceremony, but consider letting the camera be a partner in your day to capture the joy and energy that follows. Probably the most significant benefit of smaller weddings, is we are typically less confined to a schedule. Meaning, we can really go anywhere you’d like for picture-taking, which isn’t always the case at bigger weddings when there is a crowd of guests waiting to greet you. For example, we might visit a place that’s special to your relationship or a location you regularly enjoy. Let the day be about you and remain focused on each other.
After taking pictures at city hall with this couple, we strolled down the street to nearby Ashburton Park in Beacon Hill, a really beautiful and grand location for wedding photography. Next up was a visit to Boston’s Old City Hall, pausing here and there to take in the photographic possibilities of the side streets and architecture we discovered along the way. An interesting alley will always seem to catch my eye!
If you are planning to marry at Boston City Hall, or thinking about a small scale wedding elsewhere, I would love to talk to you about how wedding photography can remain a big part of your day.
