Plum Island Beach Senior Portrait Session

NEWBURYPORT SENIOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

When it comes to senior portrait sessions, the guys can be a bit more reluctant to jump in than the girls. I totally get and sympathize with the possible hesitation of having a photographer shadow you for up to an hour with mom and dad cheering you on in the background! But when you arrive to the session with an open mind and a willingness to see where the afternoon goes — like William here — the experience can be really memorable and most importantly, fun!

A couple years back, I photographed William’s brother senior portraits, and was thrilled when his mom reached out to work with me again. As with William’s brother’s session, Plum Island was once again the location of choice, so I wanted mix up the backgrounds somewhat and explore new perspectives. Even better, William is a talented basketball player, and I loved that we were able to incorporate his skills into the session, both on the beach and by the nearby hoops. If you participate in a school activity or athletics, definitely let’s make that an active part of your session!

When should you schedule your senior portrait session? Anytime really, but the summer and spring prior to your senior year are the most popular, followed by the winter and spring of your senior year. Most book their session to align with their school’s yearbook deadline, but if that’s not applicable to you, then book during the season you’d feel most comfortable in. Great job, William, and I look forward to photographing your other sibling in the near future!
