Historic Concord, MA

While I finish polishing up a few shots from a baby birthday portrait session, here's a selection of images taken on a trip to Massachusetts, overlooking a pond in the historic town of Concord. Concord is probably best known for being integral to the kickoff of the American Revolutionary War, but it was also home to some of America's greatest literary talents, such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott, and Henry David Thoreau.

Save for a few cackling geese and the occasional croak of bullfrogs, the pond itself was quite tranquil. The contrast of the bright blue sky to the green lilly pads was striking, and a wooden shack bordering the water's edge imparted the surroundings with an almost timeless quality.
